Grandma

Unconditional love,
A smile that warms my heart,
Eyes that peek over her glasses.

Kindness and gentleness,
Yet, you do not want to know her fury
She could get you laughing in a hurry.

Joyful and giggly
Courageous and strong,
In her heart there is always a song.

She looks for the silver lining
She believes in God’s timing
She is faithful in prayer.
(And on holidays you could find her with curlers in her hair)

The joy of the Lord is her strength,
Her love for Jesus is known
And she knows this world is not her home.

For My Uncle Brian

Uncle B,

You got it right.
You have illustrated love,
Through your life.

You have gone so many extra miles.
You have shared your beautiful smile.
You have given laughter and joy.

You have inspired and touched many lives,
With your generosity, gentleness, and humor.
And rumor... has it, Target holds your Wanted poster.

You were the only clown,
I could be around.
And I hope you remember the bus ride I endured with a  real one.

You and mom were one dynamic duo,
or perhaps more like partners in crime.
Either way,
You’re  My Uncle Bri.

And though I don’t know why you had to go,
I just want you to know,

You have left us a legacy of love.
